World Kidney Day is a universal campaign planned for creating awarenessamong the general public about one of the prominent health problem our society is facing today in the current scenario. As part of this universal and such significant campaign, World Kidney Day was observed byCollege of Nursing, AIIMS Raipur, C.G on 12th March 2020, with an aim to contribute in awareness and to empower general people to identify ways to prevent the occurrence of variouskidney diseases and the warning signs for early detection and prompt treatment on time. The programme was inaugurated by our Honourable Director Professor (Dr.) Nitin.M.Nagarkar in CENTRAL DOME (OPD Registration Area) at 9:15 AM. On this occasion, poster exhibition & competition was conducted on the theme “Kidney Health for Everyone Everywhere – from Prevention to Detection and Equitable Access to Care”for the BSc (Hons.) Nursing 2nd year students, which was visited and observed by Honourable Director Professor (Dr.) Nitin.M.Nagarkar , Medical Superintendent Professor (Dr.) Karan Peepreand (Dr.) VinayRathore, Assistant Professor, Department of Nephrology. In the chain of events, Role Play was done by two groups of B.Sc.(Hons.) Nursing 2nd year students in Main Dome till 12:00 pm. This was followed by health education session for the patients who came to the medicine OPD. The complete programme was guided by Prof. (Dr.) S.P.Dhaneria, Dean (Academics),AIIMS Raipur & supported by all the Facultiesof College of Nursing. The programme was organized by Dr.Solomon James M, Mr.Sharun N.V, Mr.P.D.Deepak, Mr.AbdulmunafMujawar,Mrs.Sumanshinde, Mr.Harish Kumar &Mrs.Renurekha,Nursing Tutors,Department of Medical Surgical Nursing. Activities succeeded in creating awareness about various aspects of kidney diseases, its causes, prevention & treatment aspects among the general public.
