World Cancer Day was observed by College of Nursing, AIIMS RAIPUR in collaboration with Department of Radiotherapy, on the theme “CLOSE THE CARE GAP: Realising the problem” on 4 th February 2022 which was inaugurated by Honorable Director, Professor Dr Nitin M. Nagarkar. Cancer is a highly preventable and curable disease. The Cancer burden can be reduced through early detection of cancer, adopting healthy lifestyle and appropriate treatment and care. Recent advancements in treatment modalities help us to stand strong against cancer. Everyone has to play their part in this fight against cancer. On this occasion, E-poster competition was conducted for BSc (Hons) Nursing students.
A webinar was conducted on the theme for Nursing Faculties, Assistant Nursing Superintendent, Senior Nursing officers, Nursing Officers and BSc (Hons) Nursing and MSc. Nursing students. Total number of delegates participated in the
webinar were 252. The resource persons of the webinar were Dr. Siddhartha Nanda, Dr.Binu Mathew, Dr.Solomon James, Mr.P.D.Deepak and Mr.Abdul Munaf Mujawar. The program was guided and supported by Honorable Director Professor(Dr.) Nitin M. Nagarkar, Dean Dr. S. P. Dhaneria, Head of the Department of Radiotherapy, Dr. Siddhartha Nanda and Assistant Professors, College of Nursing, Dr. Binu Mathew and Mrs.J. Jeayareka. An online Cancer Awareness programme was also conducted for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya-2 by Dr. Binu Mathew & Mr. Rajendar Singh. Activities succeeded in creating awareness among the student nurses and Nursing Officers about various issues & barriers in cancer care.
