INAUGURATION OF THE SECOND ADVANCED CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION LABORATORY AT AIIMS RAIPUR BY THE MINISTER OF AYUSH AND HEALTH & FAMILY WELFARE
On August 4, 2024, the Hon’ble Minister of State for AYUSH and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Mr. Prataprao Jadhav, accompanied by the Hon’ble Health Minister of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, was received by Lt Gen Ashok Jindal (Retd), Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Raipur.
Mr. Prataprao Jadhav inaugurated the state-of-the-art second cardiac catheterization laboratory at AIIMS Raipur, which previously had only one cath lab performing approximately 150 plus cardiac catheterizations procedures in a month (including angioplasties, pacemakers, CRT-D, ICD, and device closures of ASD, VSD, and PDA), now boasts this advanced facility expected to significantly increase the number of angiographies and angioplasties performed. This will reduce patient waiting times and enhance the hospital's capacity to provide timely and efficient cardiac care.
Moreover, the new lab will serve as a critical training ground for medical students in the DM Cardiology program, fostering a new generation of highly skilled cardiologists.
During his visit, Mr. Jadhav toured several key departments, including the emergency pediatric department, the trauma and emergency department, and the AYUSH department, meticulously inspecting the patient care facilities. His tour underscored the institution's commitment to delivering comprehensive, integrated healthcare services.
Following the tour, the Hon’ble Minister held a constructive meeting with the Executive Director, Deans, and Medical Superintendent of AIIMS Raipur.
He lauded the institution for its exceptional healthcare facilities and services, recognizing AIIMS Raipur as a beacon of medical excellence in the region.
