An awareness program on the theme - Importance of the first 1000 days for a mother and child

As part of PoshanMaah 2024, the College of Nursing, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Raipur, organized various outreach activities on September 30th and October 1st 2024. An awareness program on the theme Importance of the first 1000 days for a mother and child" was conducted at theAnganwadi in the Khokhopara area of Raipur, benefiting 25 mothers and children. Additionally,screening for anemia and malnutrition was carried out for 120 students at PM Shri Kendriya VidyalayaNo 02, Raipur, along with an awareness session on the importance of PoshanMaah celebration and the prevention of anemia among adolescent girls. A poster competition on the topic on balanced diet was also held for school children, with the top 3 posters being awarded. The event was attended by Mr. Sujit Saxena, Principal, Mrs. Sunita Khribat, Vice Principal, Mrs. Elizabeth J Mathew, TGT Biology at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No 02, Raipur, and organized by Dr. Binu Mathew, Professor Cum Principal, Mrs Rohisha IK, Ms Ritika Rocque, Mr Harish Kumar, Mr Abdulmunaf Mujawar and Ms Ramya R, Nursing Faculty of the Community Health Nursing Department, College of Nursing AIIMS, Raipur. The program was supported by Lt. Gen Ashok Jindal (Retd), Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS, Raipur, and Prof. Alok C Agrawal, Dean (Academics) at AIIMS, Raipur. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and prize
distribution.
