On 22nd and 23rd March 2025 Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology AIIMS Raipur in collaboration with Maa Sharda School and Voluson School organized “Hands-on Training Program on Obstetric Colour Doppler & Ultrasound”. The event was inaugurated by the Honorable Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Raipur, Lt. Gen. Ashok Jindal, along with Dean Academics Prof Dr. Alok Chandra Agrawal, and Medical Superintendent Prof Dr. Renu Rajguru. The workshop featured renowned experts in Maternal-Fetal Medicine Dr. Girish Patel from Ahenadabad and fetal medicine experts from Raipur, Dr. Shreya Goenka and, Dr. Purvi Agrawal. The program was chaired by Dean Research & Head, Dept of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, AIIMS Raipur Prof. Dr. Sarita Agrawal with Dr. Sarita Rajbhar serving as the organising secretary. Residents from the department participated actively in hands on training workshop and acquired skills in advanced obstetric ultrasound. This event highlighted the growing importance of Ultrasound not just a diagnostic tool but also as an extension of clinical expertise, helping to make timely and informed decisions that can enhance the course of pregnancy care. Postgraduate students received comprehensive training in various essential aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. The training began with Knobology, where students learned the critical skills needed to operate ultrasound machines, adjusting settings for optimal imaging and diagnosis. They were also trained in performing first-trimester anomaly scans, which are crucial for early detection of fetal abnormalities and ensuring a healthy pregnancy. Additionally, students gained expertise in using obstetric Doppler’s to monitor fetal heart rate and blood flow, providing important insights into the well-being of both the mother and fetus. The training included IOTA (International Ovarian Tumor Analysis), a method for accurately assessing and diagnosing ovarian masses through ultrasound imaging. Lastly, students were introduced to 3D ultrasonography, enabling them to create detailed, three-dimensional images of the fetus and reproductive organs, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and patient care. This workshop provided the residents with a valuable opportunity to enhance their ultrasonography skills under the expert guidance of distinguished faculty members.
