NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY An awareness programme was organized by the students of 2nd Year B.Sc (Hons) Nursing and Department of Community Health Nursing, College of Nursing, AIIMS Raipur on 24th January 2020, the “6 th National Girl Child Day (i.e. Beti Bacho Beti Padho)” day at Jheet, Durg. Keeping the theme of this year “Educating Girl Child”, the awareness programme began with a Rally followed by a role play which aimed to raise awareness about the importance of girl child and create facilities for them. The programme was utilized as a platform to share about the atrocities and inequalities faced by girls in their lives, to promote awareness about the rights of a girl child and to increase awareness on the importance of girl education, health, and nutrition and also in providing a learning experience to the nursing students to address the health problems and needs of the community and how they need to take part in health promotion and disease prevention. The programme was supported by Prof. (Dr.) Nitin M Nagarkar, Director, and Prof. (Dr.) S. P Dhaneria, Dean, AIIMS, Raipur.
