World cancer day was observed by AIIMS, College of Nursing in collaboration with the Department of Radiotherapy, AIIMS Raipur, C.G on 4th February 2020, with an aim to contribute in awareness and empower general people to identify ways to prevent the occurrence of this life threatening disease & the warning signs for early detection and prompt treatment on time. The programme was inaugurated by our Honourable Director Professor (Dr.) Nitin.M.Nagarkar in CENTRAL DOME (OPD Registration Area) at 9:00 AM. On this occasion, poster exhibition & competition was conducted on the theme “I AM & I WILL” for the BSc (Hons.) Nursing 3rd year students, which was visited and observed by Honourable Director Professor (Dr.) Nitin.M.Nagarkar , Medical Superintendent Professor (Dr.) Karan Peepreand (Dr.) Siddhartha Nanda, Associate Professor, Department of Radiotherapy. This was followed by Role Play by two groups of BSc (Hons.) Nursing 3rd year students till 12:00 pm.Later on in the afternoon session a CNE and QUIZ competition (2:00pm-4:30pm) was organised in College of Nursing in the presence of our Honourable Professor (Dr.) S.P.Dhaneria, Dean, Academics, AIIMS, Raipur & Medical Superintendent Professor (Dr.) Karan Peepreand (Dr.) Siddhartha Nanda, Associate Professor, Department of Radiotherapy.The complete programme was guided by Dr.Binu Mathew &Mrs.J.Jeayareka, Assistant Professor, College of Nursing. The programme was organized by (Dr.) Siddhartha Nanda, Dr. Solomon James, Mr.Rajendar Singh, Mrs.Sumanshinde, Mr.P.D.Deepak, Mr.Sharun N.V.and Mr.AbdulmunafMujawar. Activities succeeded in creating awareness about various aspects of cancer for the general public, budding student nurses, A.N.S, S.N.O& Nursing Officers attended the CNE.
