Introduction▼
The Department of Neurosurgery, AIIMS Raipur was started on 4th September 2017 when Dr Anil Kumar Sharma joined as founder faculty of the department and has been growing by leaps and bounds every year. The department now has 05 faculty members and runs 3- year M.Ch residency programmes with biennial admissions. At present, the neurosurgery department has 2 well-equipped routine operating rooms and a 24-hour emergency operating room. These OR’s have all necessary modern equipment and is well-equipped to facilitate all simple and complex neurosurgical procedures.

- The Department of Neurosurgery continued to scale new heights in patient care, research and training. The department is working towards establishing an international reputation for both clinical and academic excellence.
- The department of Neurosurgery is able to cater to almost all neurosurgical diseases affecting the cranium, spine and peripheral nervous system.
- Deep brain stimulation surgeries (DBS) started for Parkinson's disease and department is pioneer in starting these services first time in central India.

- Pituitary tumours and complex endoscopic Skull base surgery

- Stereotactic Biopsy and navigation guided surgeries
- Awake brain surgeries
- Spinal tumours and degenerative diseases
- Functional surgeries like Drezotomy and microvascular decompressions, hemifacial spasm
- General neurosurgery
- Trigeminal neuralgia and nerve compression syndromes
- Peripheral Nerve Surgeries
- Minimally invasive surgery for brain and spinal disorders
- Complex Craniovertebral Junction surgeries
