An Orientation workshop on Research Methodology was organized by Research Review Committee, College of Nursing on August 28th 2024 at Examination Hall -1st floor of College of Nursing. Workshop was planned with the aim of creating awareness about the importance of research in health sciences for the upcoming undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students. Total of about 150 nursing students and faculty has participated in the workshop. Programme started at 9 am with a lamp lighting ceremony. Dr. Binu Mathew, Prof Cum Principal of College of Nursing delivered the welcome address. Inauguration of the programme was done by Lt. Gen. Ashok Jindal, Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS Raipur followed by an inspiring talk on Introduction to Health Research. Dean student welfare –Dr.Krishnadutt Chavali was the guest of honour and he addressed the gathering. Prof. (Dr).Abhiruchi Galhotra,Professor Department of CFM, AIIMS Raipur & Chairperson of Research Review Committee also chaired the inaugural program. Ms.Vahitha S,Member secretary of Research Review Committee winded up the inaugural session with vote of thanks. Inauguration session was followed by scientific sessions. Sessions were taken by experts in the field of research .Deliberations gave the audience an overall outlook about the research process. Session on Role of Principal Investigator in Research Project , & Do’s and Don’ts in research was taken by Dr Santhosh Rao, Professor & Member Secretary -Institute Research Cell Department of Dentistry, AIIMS Raipur. Followed by that deliberations were given by Dr. J. Jeayareka, Assistant Professor ,College of Nursing, AIIMS Raipur, Prof. (Dr). Archana Keche Professor, Department of Microbiology, AIIMS Raipur & Prof. (Dr).Abhiruchi Galhotra,Professor Department of CFM, AIIMS Raipur on the topics Framing of Research Question, Objectives & Hypothesis, Guidelines for Proposal Writing & Overview of Research Designs respectively. Importance of Ethics in research was briefed by Dr. Upasana Kachroo,Member Secretary, IEC-AIIMS Raipur. Prof. (Dr).Nitin Rewaran Gaikwad Professor & HOD Department of Pharmacology, AIIMS Raipur explained in detail about effective literature search. Sessions on Sampling in Research and Basics of Biostatics were covered by Dr. Abhijith Kumar Prasad,Assistant Professor ,Department of Micro biology, AIIMS Raipur & by Dr. Arvind Kumar Shukla ,Associate Professor, Department of CFM, AIIMS Raipur. Workshop ended by b 5:30 pm with a valedictory function. Prof. (Dr).Alok .C. Agrawal, Dean (Academics), AIIMS Raipur was the guest of honour and addressed the gathering. Dr.Atul Jindal, Registrar AIIMS Raipur also graced the occasion with his presence. Programme was winded up by Vote of Thanks by Ms.Rohisha I.K ,Nursing Tutor,College of Nursing,AIIMS Raipur.
